Department's Explorer Program!

The Moultonborough Police Department sponsors a Law Enforcement Explorer Post under the direction of the Boy Scouts of America. This program not only fosters a closer relationship between police officers and young people, it introduces and exposes them to various careers in law enforcement.

Young men and women who are members of the post are involved in a range of activities that include some of the following:

bulletRegular post meetings at the police station.
bulletRide along with on duty police officers.
bulletProvide traffic control during community events.
bulletParticipate in police department in-service training.
bulletDrill and march in parades.
bulletParticipate in post social functions.
bulletParticipate in Daniel Webster Counsel and state wide events and functions with other Explorer Posts.
bulletPlan and participate in fund raising events.

Post membership not only instills a sense of pride and responsibility in young people, but it exposes them to opportunities that might not otherwise be available to them. In addition to career choices, post members have the opportunity to apply for admission to the Cadet Training Academy, college scholarships and other training and educational events.

Membership is available to all young men and women ages 14 to 20. Membership is not limited to just Moultonborough residents. We invite all area youth with the right character and ethics to join our ranks.
